What an incredible May Lunch & Learn!
We welcomed over 130 guests to celebrate our 2025 BBIA Scholarship Recipients and share exciting updates about the future of workforce development in our region.
A huge thank you to our incredible sponsors—Centennial Bank and Peoples First Insurance—for supporting this special event and providing awesome giveaways for our attendees!
We were honored to welcome an outstanding lineup of speakers:
   •   Congressman Jimmy Patronis shared national updates and emphasized the importance of ensuring Northwest Florida remains front and center in upcoming initiatives.
   •   Angela Reese, Ed. S., Director of Tom P. Haney Technical College, and
   •   Superintendent Mark McQueen of Bay District Schools highlighted how our partnerships are creating real opportunities for students in our community.
We’d like to give a big thank you to Laura Blair with Florida Power & Light, Scholarship Committee Co-Chair, for speaking about the impact BBIA scholarships have made and for helping present this year’s awards. Laura also called each student to the stage as they were recognized—thank you for making that moment so special!
Brian Knox with Coastal Classic Homes, builder of our 2025 BBIA Scholarship Home, gave an inspiring update on the project and recognized the many BBIA members and donors who are bringing this home to life.
Marty Perrett with Innovations Financial Credit Union, who also serves as Scholarship Committee Co-Chair, ran the agenda with ease and kept everything running smoothly—thank you, Marty! You alway make our Lunch & Learn programs so much fun!
Special thanks to Brigette Yeager and Shannon Robinson of SmartBank for checking in our guests once again and helping things run seamlessly from start to finish. Your consistent support never goes unnoticed!
Congratulations to Shane Boyett with Florida Power & Light for winning the 50/50 raffle and then generously donating it back to the scholarship program—what a great example of giving back!
Additional thanks go to:
   •   Tina Blackwell for announcing our Bowling Tournament coming up this Friday,
   •   Alex Harkins with BGN Contractors for previewing our PWB Bill Black Wild Game Luncheon happening in September,
   •   Angels BBQ for serving up a delicious lunch, and
   •   Chelsea and Suzie at Capt. Anderson’s Event Center for making sure the venue was set up perfectly.
And finally, a heartfelt thank you to our BBIA Board Members who arrived early, helped greet guests, and ensured everything ran smoothly behind the scenes.
Congratulations again to all of our scholarship recipients—we’re honored to support your future in the building industry!
