Associate members typically include suppliers, manufacturers, subcontractors, architects, engineers, real estate professionals, and other professionals who support the building industry. 

Associate members play a vital role in the association by offering expertise, products, and services that are essential for the successful completion of construction projects. They often collaborate with builder members and other stakeholders in the industry to meet the diverse needs of clients and communities.

Dues payments to the BBIA are NOT tax-deductible as charitable contributions for federal tax purposes, but may be deductible as an ordinary and necessary business expense. Your dues for annual membership to the Bay Building Industries Association include $178.50 for membership in the Florida Home Builders Association (FHBA) and $198 for membership in the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). A portion of your 2024 dues to the FHBA is used for lobbying and is not deductible for tax purposes. The non-deductible portion of your 2024 FHBA dues is 32% and the non-deductible portion of your 2024 NAHB dues is 16%. $27.00 of your dues for membership in the Florida Home Builders Association and $10.00 of your dues for BBIA is allocated to the Florida Home Builders Political Action Committees. This portion of your dues is not tax deductible as a business expense. This allocation is optional. If you do not want any of your dues allocated to FHBA Political Action Committee, please indicate so and this allocation will be retained in FHBA operating funds.

PLEASE NOTE: Builder Membership is for CBC, CRC and CGC contractors only. A builder member of the Bay Building Industries Association (BBIA) is an individual or a company that is actively involved in the construction industry. Builder members typically include contractors, builders, and construction firms that are engaged in various aspects of residential or commercial construction. These members play a crucial role in shaping the building industry within the community.

An affiliate membership in the Bay Building Industries Association (BBIA) is a membership category designated for additional offices or members affiliated with a main membership, such as a builder or associate membership. Although all staff are welcome to participate in association events, members who wish to have their own web listings, access benefits and resources, earn spike awards, and register for events at the Florida Home Builders Association & National Association of Home Builders should add an affiliate membership to their main membership, thereby enhancing their involvement and impact within the construction sector.
