Southeast Building Conference Highlights

The 2024 Southeast Building Conference featured a packed agenda of Florida Home Builders Association Business Meetings, an awesome SEBC Show, and networking and learning from the best of the best in the industry! We had a fantastic group there celebrating the achievements and hard work of our industry, and we are so proud to be among so many amazingly talented and passionate individuals!
Day 2 of SEBC began with the 404 Permitting Panel Discussion, followed by the opening of the #SEBCshow.
We were thrilled to have a surprise special guest, Coach Bryan Normand, Construction Academy Teacher from Arnold High School, who came to check out the work of our FBA student chapters! We watched the FBA Student Chapters compete, showcasing their amazing outdoor kitchens and benches. We are so proud of these students! Congratulations to a job well done!
The day also included FHBA Business Meetings, the SEBC Bash at Ole Red’s, and visits with our favorite members and friends!
Day 3 started with the FHBPAC meeting, followed by our Government Affairs session which was full of information. We were honored to have special guests, including Sen. Corey Simon, Rep. Toby Oberdorf, and DBPR Secretary Melanie Griffin.
Our Good Government Lunch and Champions of Housing Awards were wonderful. A big thank you to Sen. Corey Simon for being our keynote speaker. He graciously signed an FSU football and tie, which helped us raise over $3,400 for BuildPAC. We also extend special thanks and congratulations to our very own Sen. Jay Trumball. We were delighted to have Sen. Blaise Ingoglia, Rep. Toby Oberdorf, Rep. Will Robinson, Danny Nix, and DBPR Secretary Melanie Griffin with us. We are deeply grateful to all those helping us advocate for our industry.
The afternoon Area 1 Caucus meeting was well-attended, and we made some moves as an area on our 2025 legislative priorities. We were incredibly proud to have such strong support for our area. A special thank you to Marty Perrett our BBIA President, with First National Bank Northwest Florida, for running yesterday’s very important meeting.
Our BuildPAC reception was a great success, raising over $25,000! The FHBPAC Legacy Club Rum bottles were presented, with a special shout-out to Tom Gladstone for his outstanding contributions both to our association and his statewide efforts.
In the evening, we joined the BIA Okaloosa Walton for a fabulous dinner at Bahama Breeze, enjoying great conversations and laughs with some of our favorite people.
The final day of our Florida Home Builders Association Business Meetings concluded with our Board meeting at the Southeast Building Conference. It was a wonderful meeting led by our very own Garrett Anderson, FHBA President, filled with great information, leadership, and award announcements.
One of the awards was particularly special to us. Congratulations to Tom Gladstone of Tom Gladstone Homes for receiving the Dick Baker Award! This award is given to individuals who have shown remarkable resolve in dealing with life’s adversities. We are incredibly proud of all the work Tom has done. Congratulations, Tom! You are devoted to our industry, association, members, and mission, and we are so grateful for you.
Congratulations to all of the 2024 award recipients who continue to pave the way for our industry!
Another congratulations to Garrett Anderson who will now be our 2025 FHBA Representative for NAHB! We are very proud of his continued leadership and commitment to our Federation!!
We look forward to the FHBA Fall Conference in Bonita Springs.
