Dear Members,

We hope everyone had a fantastic start to the new year and enjoyed the rare winter wonderland that swept through! January was a big month for BBIA, and we’re excited to share some of the highlights.

We hit the ground running as our BBIA Board Members had the opportunity to meet with Florida CFO Jimmy Patronis as he prepared for his special primary election for the seat previously held by Matt Gaetz. During this meeting, we were proud to present him with a check from NAHB to show our support for his candidacy. It was a great discussion about the future of our industry and the importance of strong leadership in advocating for the building community.

Next, we celebrated the groundbreaking of our 2025 BBIA Scholarship Home, which is being built under the direction of Brian Knox of Coastal Classic Homes. This project not only supports local students but also builds excitement for this year’s Parade of Homes. It’s always inspiring to see our members come together to make this initiative possible!

January also brought a fantastic Lunch & Learn with Jorge Gonzalez, President & CEO of The St. Joe Company. Jorge shared valuable insights on the growth and development of our region, and we are grateful for his time and expertise. It was a great opportunity for our members to learn more about the direction of local development and the exciting opportunities ahead.

We also had a successful 2025 Home Expo, where industry professionals, homeowners, and vendors connected to explore the latest in homebuilding and design. A huge thank you to our exhibitors, sponsors, and attendees for making it a great event!

We’re also excited to welcome Beth Klein to the BBIA family as our new Marketing Administrator! Beth will be helping us share BBIA’s mission and events with the community, and we’re thrilled to have her on board. You can reach Beth at 850-819-1137 or by email at Beth@BayBIA.org.

And don’t forget—BBIA Scholarships are now open! If you or someone you know is interested in a career in the building industry, applications are available on our website. Don’t miss this opportunity!

Here’s to a great start to 2025—let’s keep building together!
Stacy
